Rumour - Timesplitters news on the way

Has it really been a whole six weeks since the last Timesplitters announce rumour? Must be time for another one, then.

"Gun-wielding monkeys are making a comeback! A fourth TimeSplitters title is to be announced soon," the September issue of OPM claimed, as reported by ConnectedConsoles. Soon? Like, gamescom soon?

The Timesplitters series was developed by Free Radical, which was later purchased and rebranded as Crytek UK. The studio's activities post Crysis-2 contributions have been under wraps for some time, and was expected to be revealed at E3.

Crytek has indicated its willingness to resurrect the series, but rumours of an imminent or even quite distant announce circulate every few months.

A Crytek staffer's CV recently outed a new IP in the works at Crytek proper, ruling out the possibility of the Far Cry and Crysis team re-vamping the IP.
