Rumour: Nintendo to introduce US Wii budget line alongside price-cut

Kotaku's rumouring that Nintendo will introduce a new budget line of titles for Wii in the US.

The first batch of titles for this said line-up, known as Wii Select, include Mario Super Sluggers, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Sports, which was the first game to be published alongside the console at launch in 2006.

The company will now bundle Mario Kart Wii, according to pre-order sheets obtained by the site, with Wii Sports being sold separately. The new bundle will go on sale for $149 on May 15, which matches with a previous report from last month.

Nintendo of America said it "does not comment on rumors or speculation."

The speculation follows news last week that the company will unveil the successor to Wii, under the codename Project Cafe, at E3 next month.
