Rumor has it that Lucasarts is busy making a new entry into its Star Wars: Starfighter series and plans to reveal it at E3.

This comes by way of CVG which spoke to a "US publishing source" close to the company.

The source also told the site that the game is to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Starfighter was originally released on on PS2, later followed by a release on PC and Xbox from Secret Level, dubbed a Special Edition with included several upgrades.

The last entry into the series was Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter for PS2 and Xbox which hit right around the time of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones opened in theaters.

A Lucasarts spokesperson told CVG that this bit of news was nothing more than "rumor and speculation", but the firm did say that more titles would be revealed at E3 than what it included on its list.

So, it's possible a new Starfighter will be revealed after all.
