Rocksteady: 80 percent of Arkham City will be set on Gotham streets

Rocksteady's said that a majority of Batman: Arkham City - 80 percent, to be exact - will be set on the streets of Gotham City itself, whilst 20 percent will be spent indoors on certain missions.

But speaking to PSM3 (via PC Gamer), it said that you would have a huge amount of freedom given to you in the game from the very start.

The studio also admitted that developing the game has been a "huge technical challenge," but has dealt with it in the shape of a 97-strong development team, up from the 65 that worked on Arkham Asylum.

"Our objective was not to make a bigger game world just for the sake of it. We want to fill it with content, and there’s no better world than Batman’s universe to take inspiration from," it said.

"Because we’ve decided to make such a large world we had to bring in more artists, animators and so on. It’s been a pretty huge technical and creative undertaking for the team."

Batman: Arkham City releases on October 18 in the US and October 21 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.
