Rockstar Games Launcher update fixes a couple of common Red Dead Redemption 2 issues

Rockstar has rolled out a new update to its PC launcher to help with a few of the issues Red Dead Redemption 2 players have been running into.

As you probably know by now, the recently launched Rockstar Games Launcher is required if you want to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, regardless of which store you happen to have the game on.

This created some confusion at launch, as many didn't know if the problems they're running into are caused by the launcher, or the game itself. Seemingly copping that some of these are indeed the fault of the launcher, Rockstar released a new update to take care of some of the most common.

Update v1.0.9.164 fixes the decryption bug that stopped those who pre-loaded from playing early on, and addresses a few crashes on the Epic Games Store.

Perhaps the two biggest fixes in this patch address the "Rockstar Games Launcher failed to initialize" startup error, and the now infamous "Rockstar Games Launcher exited unexpectedly" when launching Red Dead Redemption 2.

Finally, Epic Games Store users should no longer get the "Unable to launch game, please verify your game data" error when starting the game.
