Deleting Wasteland will earn you a Rocket League ban

Rocket League competitive play includes Wasteland. Learn to love it.

Rocket League developer Psyonix has issued an update which has "implemented a ban system for players who alter game files to give unfair advantage in online play".

If this happens to you, just use Steam's verify game cache feature to restore lost files; you'll be back in action in no time.

As for why you might have done such a thing, well... not everybody is a huge fan of the Wasteland map, which is pretty different from the rest of the arenas on the ranked play list. Those who've honed their skills for other maps find Wasteland can do dreadful things to their averages - or maybe they just don't enjoy it.

In any case, the winners of Season 2 will be players who are good at Wasteland as well as other maps, so you'd better get to practicing. Everyone else is at the same disadvantage now, you know.

The patch also does some bug squashin' - check the full patch notes on Steam.
