Rock Band Unplugged will release for PSP this year, it's just been confirmed.

This news just came out of Sony's Destination PlayStation event in the US.

The game is expected to use Wi-Fi capabilities, and will be the first PSP game to use an in-game store for DLC.

It'll be released in Europe and North America: more details are to announced soon.

Update: According to this Primotech story, Rock Band Unplugged's gameplay resembles Harmonix's PlayStation 2 games Amplitude and Frequency. It will feature tracks from Blink 182, Boston, AFI, Kansas, Lit, and The Police. Thanks, Shack.
