You can now start transferring your stored Rock Band DLC tracks in preparation for Rock Band 4, but you should know it will take you a while to do it.

As stated in the headline, will have transfer the DLC one song at at time. This means, even if you downloaded a batch, say for instance the three-track Metallica 01 pack, you will still have to download one track at a time.

The developer said this is due to first-party technical restrictions and being unable to support batch downloads on the respective stores.

Harmonix provides step-by-step directions on how to transfer the DLC over to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on its blog. Remember: you can only re-download DLC for free within each console family.

Rock Band 4 gameplay features such as Freestyle Guitar Solos and Dynamic Drum Fills have been added to legacy DLC and over 1,700 pieces have been added to the game.

Because of this, at launch, all DLC singles on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be $1.99. This includes all legacy DLC singles if they have not already been purchased and future DLC singles.

So, if you have yet to take advantage of the 50% off sale on DLC that's been going on for three years now, get in on it fast. After the game launches, you will have to pay $1.99 for it and all packs will return to the original full price.

Rock Band 4 released on October 6.
