River City Ransom: Underground engine going open source

Conatus Creative has announced that it will make its engine open source if it reaches its crowdfunding target and produces the licensed retro beat-'em-up sequel River City Ransom: Underground. In a Kickstarter update, Conatus said it can't offer drag and drop tools or a professional development suite, nor can it release the graphics, sound music or story, but will open everything else so that "modders have a clear blueprint they can follow to build their own beat'em up games". River City Ransom is coming to PC, and possibly PS4 and Vita if stretch goals are met.

Thanks, DSB.
