Report - TDU2 devs Eden Games go on strike

Gama's reporting that Eden Games has gone on a one day strike due to layoffs at the studio and apparent "mismanagement" by parent company Atari.

The Test Drive Unlimited 2 developer said that it was within a redundancy period of laying off a target of 51 people of the 80-strong team from France.

"Eden Games pays now for Atari mismanagement," it said in a statement sent to the site.

"For several years we are witnessing multiple leader changes at its head, they did not hesitate to get rich despite financial difficulties."

Adding that it had a redundancy period one by one at a time for the past ten years at Atari, it continued: "Each time the recovery project was beautiful and promising, and ended in a failure. We are skeptical about the proposed project," before refusing to go on about any potential projects or titles.

"Atari does not play the game of negotiations with employee representatives on the redundancy plan measures. Employee representatives of Eden until now have been extremely collaborative, respecting the very tight deadlines of the redundancy plan."

Therefore, the studio went on a one day strike "to show the employees determination and mobilization."
