VideoGamePriceCharts has released its 2009 report on game and publisher resale values for over 1,000 games released on DS, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and PS3.

Turns out, the resale value of some of your games may be much more than you paid for 'em.

According to the report (via Joystiq), games published by MTV, Atlus and Nintendo topped the market for overall value held. Seven of the top 10 publishers are different from 2008 to 2009, with only Nintendo, MTV Games, and Natsume make the list both years.

With individual titles, Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition increased in value by 66 percent and so did the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition and Forza Motorsport 3 Limited Collector's Edition.

The genres with the best resale values in 2009 were soccer, RPGs, and basketball.

You can check out the full thing through here, and there are loads of pretty columns and rows, making the data easy to read.
