Report - New Line hires Ryan Engle to pen Rampage film

The Hollywood Reported has word that New Line Cinema's hired on Ryan Engle as the scriptwriter for its film adaptation of arcade classic, Rampage. John Rickard of Final Destination and A Nightmare on Elm Street fame is still slated to produce. Eagle's previous credits include a rewrite of A Killing on Carnival Row, and the script for On a Clear Day which is in development at Intrepid Pictures. The report states Rampage is a "priority" for New Line as it hopes to make an "Independence Day-style picture on a smart budget."
