Report - More than half of gaming Kickstarters fail

An interesting infographic has surfaced showing gaming projects are less successful than your average Kickstarter campaign.

Appsblogger compiled the data from Kickstarter's archives, suggesting that to date, 50% of all projects have been successfully funded.

In the gaming category, however, we're a little below average, with just 43% of campaigns meeting their goals.

Including board and card games, over 17,000 gaming projects have been launched through the crowdfunding platform, meaning almost 10,000 have ended in failure. Ouch.

Check out the full rundown below. Kickstarter rose to prominence as a possible viable funding path for small to mid-sized development thanks to high-profile campaigns like Double Fine's Adventure and inXile's Wasteland 2.
