Report - Facebook games finding it harder to attract users

The number of Facebook users regularly playing games has dropped by half in the space of a year, according to IHS Screen Digest Media Research.

The analyst firm claims that at the end of 2011 around 25% of Facebook users played games - down from 50% of all users at the end of 2010.

IHS Screen Digest Media put the decrease down to growing competition on Facebook as well as from other casual spheres like mobiles.

Additionally, the firm believes the novelty of social games has worn off a litt,e and that players are turning to more skill-based releases.
