Report - EA wins courtcase over "Edge" trademark

IG is reporting EA has won its courtcase against Edge Games over the trademark of the latter's namesake. For real this time.

According to court documents obtained by the site, it denied the injunction the studio made over EA's use of the word in DICE's Mirror's Edge.

The documents also said Edge boss Tim Langdell made fraudulent statements to the USPTO, with his actions not only "trolling" the games industry, but also "suspect."

They even go as far as saying Langdell could even face "criminal penalties."

An EA spokesperson told the site it was "pleased with the opinion issued by the court. We hope that this case serves as a milestone in protecting independent developers from nuisance litigation."
