Titanfall 2 make several changes from its precursor, one of which brings it more inline with competing shooters: there's a proper story mission sequence.
The first Titanfall did have a story campaign, but it wasn't really single-player - just a playlist of maps and some connective story elements. There was quite a lot of lore to be dug out of the environments and whatever, but that doesn't really scratch the narrative bug, does it?
