Remedy: Consider Alan Wake DLC as "Christmas special"

Forget Doctor Who and Top of the Pops: the one Christmas special you should be watching (playing?) this year is Alan Wake.

"When you get Alan Wake in your hands, you can think of this as season one," head of franchise at Remedy, Oskari Hakkinen, has told Edge. "We'll have a satisfactory and conclusive ending, but we'll leave some doors open: we've planned for a bigger story arc."

He further added: "And we've thought of DLC, which will be more of a bridge between season one and season two, should this first part be a success.

"You can think of the DLC as a Christmas special, something that will give you a different perspective on the stuff you've played in season one."

Microsoft confirmed at CES back in January that DLC episodes will release after the games full release, although what will exactly be included is unknown. The last we heard on anything roughly concrete on it was that it was still at an "idea stage".

Alan Wake is set to release on May 18 in the US and May 21 in the UK for Xbox 360.
