Red Dead Redemption 2 players finally locate the missing princess Isabeau

One of the great benefits of having Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is that you're able to dig through the files to find all sorts of cut content.

This is exactly what Red Dead Redemption 2 PC modders did recently in order to solve an infamous mystery players on console just couldn't figure out.

As you roam the game world, you'll come across a missing person poster offering a reward of $100 to whomever locates young princess Isabeau Katharina Zinsmeister of Luxemborg. In fact, certain NPCs will even mention the poster and the reward, but players never found any trigger to that supposed event.

It now appears Rockstar initially intended for princess Isabeau to have her own mission, as players found a file named "CS_PrincessIsabeau" in Red Dead Redemption 2's files. There's a player model for her, too, as a fully grown teenager. Although the poster shows a child, she went missing in 1884, which means she's 15 years-old in the game's 1899 setting.

The model, named IKZ, was dug up using the same tool that allows players to play as any NPC. Some believe the "CS" designation means she was meant to be part of a cutscene. In any case, she has all the marks the poster said she would.

YouTuber MrBossFTW recapped her story in the video below, including a settlement in Tall Trees where she might have been hiding. Give it a watch.
