Real money prices appearing on Xbox Live 'an error' says Microsoft

Xbox Live started displaying real money prices last night, but Microsoft has confirmed that this was a glitch and it intends to stick with Microsoft Points going forward.

Microsoft confirmed in a statement that it's sticking with Microsoft Points, and is currently working on the glitch, "Yesterday, a few avatar items appeared with an option to purchase with local currency, instead of Microsoft Points. This display error doesn't signal a change in payment options, but rather an error in how the offers were configured in our services which resulted in an inconsistent experience. It is in the process of being resolved."

Save And Quit posted screens of the error, showing that games were indeed showing up with real money figures.
