RE: Revelations bests Soul Calibur V debut on Japanese charts

Resident Evil: Revelations topped Media Create's software charts this week, after debuting in second place to Armored Core V last week. On the hardware side of things, Vita's rebound the week prior was short-lived, as sales of the handheld fell 1,801 units week-over-week.

Capcom's 3DS shooter moved 43,575, bringing lifetime sales in Japan for RE: Revelations to 190,134. New release Soulcalibur V moved 34,328 units on PS3 and 7,679 units on Xbox 360, for a combined total of 42,007 units.

Other debuts for the week were: Photokano on PSP, Ragnarok Odyssey for Vita, Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS, Gran Turismo 5 Spec II and Dragon Age II on PS3, and Monster Hunter Frontier Online 3 on Xbox 360.

On the hardware side of things, PS3 and Xbox 360 were the only offerings to show growth, with each console moving 999 units and 147 units, respectively, over the prior week.

3DS sales were down 9,771 units week-over-week, but still managed to top the hardware chart. Wii sales fell by 1,58 units, and older DSi units moved a combined 1,759 units compared to last week's 1,918 units combined.
