Rare boss Mark Betteridge has told CVG that the release of Perfect Dark is just the beginning of what the studio could bring to Xbox Live Arcade: something that has "no shortages of possibilities."

"We know there are a lot of people looking forward to that. There's nothing to announce yet after Perfect Dark, but we've got over 25 years of IP to dip into so there's no shortage of possibilities," revealed Betteridge.

He also revealed the remake of the N64 classic is getting its final polish now from Dundee studio 4J Studios.

"Perfect Dark will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade in the next few months, polished up by 4J Studios with improved textures, framerate, Leaderboards and Achievements, and of course online multiplayer."

The shooter looks set to get a release anytime between next week and the first week of next month.

Previously, Rare has released two Banjo-Kazooie games on the service.

Now kids, after PD, get that petition for Killer Instinct to be on XBLA ready.
