First details revealed for Rainbow Six Siege's new Wind Bastion defender, Kaid

Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Wind Bastion is bringing two new Moroccan operators to the roster, and the defender of the pair has been officially revealed.

Rainbow Six Siege's next defender is Jalal “Kaid” El Fassi, and we now know a little bit about his background thanks to a new blog post.

Kaid is a captain in Morocco's Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, who later became the commander of the Kasbah Sehkra Mania - the DLC's Fortress map. Kaid was tasked with training the country's special forces at the fortress, and has since became the most successful commander of its training grounds.

"Kaid abides by strict values and he leads by example. Over the years, his teaching methods and leadership style have proven to be effective," Ubisoft explained. "He teaches all incoming soldiers to be self-reliant."

Among his students is Wind Bastion's new attacker. Kaid is described as a “traditionalist” who doesn't overly rely on technology, and feels that doing so would be "an Operator’s downfall."

The defender uses a spider-like gadget that can electrify reinforced walls and hatches, barbed wires, and even deployable shields. The obvious advantage to this is that it'll prevent breaching charges from being placed at these spots.

The first teaser for Kaid, seen above, shows off the gadget in action, though not much else. As is custom, the reveal of Wind Bastion's attacker should follow this week, before the pair get officially detailed at the Pro League Finals this weekend.
