Q's Cuthbert: PixelJunk Shooter 2 will be "bigger" then PJS1

Q Games boss Dylan Cuthbert has formally lifted the wraps of PixelJunk Shooter 2 on the US PS Blog, saying the sequel will be "bigger" than the original.

The game was revealed after it was shown at the weekend on the front cover of OPM US, although Cuthbert said back in February Q had plans for a PJS sequel.

"For those that haven’t already heard, PixelJunk Shooter 2 is in full production, full steam ahead, anchors away and all that… commotion to that order," he said.

"I can’t say much about it now, but it will have some features that are new to the PixelJunk series in general and will be bigger than the first game! We’re busy implementing all the ideas that were left on the drawing board for the first game to make Shooter 2 as jam-packed full of crazy fun as possible."

But anyone thinking this could be the start of something new to the PixelJunk universe with sequels galore, hold your horses: Cuthbert said there won't be a Shooter 3. Everything left over from PJS1 is going into PJS2.

"I’m pretty sure we won’t make a Shooter 3 because everything and the kitchen sink (probably quite literally) is going into Shooter 2."

He said yesterday the game will be a "proper sequel". The first PixelJunk Shooter was a fair bit of win, so by all accounts, this one will be too.

The first shots of the game can be found here.
