PUBG's anti-cheat patch rolled back due to crashes

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC recently got a significant patch that added in new anti-cheat measures. Unfortunately, developer Bluehole has been forced to roll it back.

The rollback happened yesterday - if you noticed a small update to download before getting into the action on PC, that’s what it was: Bluehole hitting undo.

The reason for this is compatibility issues, as Bluehole pointed out in the following tweet:

These compatibility issues were causing performance problems for legitimate players. People were reporting freezes and even crashes to desktop following the introduction of the new anti-cheat measures.

Because Bluehole didn’t want to punish non-cheaters, the developer was forced to undo it while it finds a solution.

“We are doing our best to resolve this issue. With the issue that is related to the game not launching, we are checking for any conflict between anti-cheat solutions and other programs,” the developer said on the forums.

“If you are having a Xenuine related error messages or an issue that is related to the game not starting, please use the following method so that we can further investigate this issue.

“Go to Start -> Run -> Enter "msinfo32"-> file -> export -> enter a file name and click save. Please upload this file to the following forum thread, we will then forward all files to our development team for investigation.”

Additionally, if you are having trouble launching PUBG, Bluehole suggests adding both ‘tslgame’ and ‘tslgame_BE’ to the exception list in your antivirus software.

Bluehole recently unveiled a big roadmap for PUBG in 2018, detailing new maps, vehicles, weapons and more.
