PUBG's latest glitch lets you ride smoke grenades off cliffs

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' recent update, test patch 19, has accidentally brought a somewhat amusing glitch.

PUBG payers have discovered that, with some precision, you can use a smoke grenade as sort of an impromptu glider when you need to get down from a very high spot quickly and safely.

Reddit user Kowzzzz was the first to capture a video of the glitch. Essentially, you throw the smoke grenade straight up and, so long as you're not on flat ground, the grenade will clip through you and carry you down to safety.

Although it looks like you have to jump on time to trigger it, the same Reddit user mentions that this is not even necessary. So far, no one was able to replicate the glitch on live servers.

It does offer an unfair advantage, but I can't help but notice the similarities between the technique and riding Guided Missiles in Fortnite. Of course, in Fortnite's case it was a hilarious, and though this wasn't something Epic had intended, it left it in anyway.

I doubt PUBG Corp. will leave this glitch untouched. It would be amazing, even only for moment, if someone can use smoke grenades to float up to the top of a mountain. Now that would be game breaking.

In other PUBG news, the community is currently home to heated discussions about the game's latest feature: ping markers. There are decent arguments on both sides, but the response has generally been more polarising than something as simple as this typically gets.
