Sony Pictures Television is reportedly developing original programming for PSN, starting with a ten-episode adaptation of the Brian Michael Bendis comic series Powers.
It follows comments from Sony's Andrew House back in July, during which he said, "With 110 million PlayStation Network accounts worldwide, that’s a substantial business opportunity for Sony Pictures to reach a different audience.
"Work is [already] under way to develop original TV-style programming content, which could be made available with some form of exclusivity to people on the PSN – essentially using PSN as a distribution network – particularly for members of PlayStation Plus."
Now; Wall Street Journal reports that the ten-part drama will be exclusive to the US and only available on PSN.
Deadline adds that Powers has been in development for some time, and has been taken back to the drawing board a few times by TV network FX.
The comic, created by Bendis and Michael Avon Oemin stars Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim; a pair of homicide detectives charged with investigating cases related to those with super powers.
