Sony has restored PSN sign-in access on PlayStation 3
Update: Sony has said that it has restored sign-in access to PlayStation 3 and that connectivity will soon be returned across the rest of the PlayStation Network.
According to a recent tweet from Sony Europe: "Thanks for your patience. PS3 sign in is now possible, and we're continuing to look into issues on PS4. Network connectivity is being restored to the rest of the network. Thanks for your patience again."
The same was tweeted by SCEA more or less.

Sony US and Europe announced on Twitter that PlayStation Network is once again experiencing connectivity issues.
The service was brought back up yesterday after a DDoS attack from a group called LizardSquad.
Here's the tweet from the US end and the EU end.
SCEE tweeted: "We are currently experiencing minor network connectivity issues across PSN & SEN networks. We're looking into this, thanks for your patience."
SCEA tweeted: "Network update: engineers are aware of connectivity issues, are working to resolve. We'll keep you posted - apologies for the inconvenience."
Some users are reportedly able to log in, but Pat checked on his end in France and was unable to log in.
LizardSquad, who claimed credit for DDoS attack against several gaming related services this weekend, tweeted a bomb threat to American Airlines, grounding a plane on which Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley was due to board.
The FBI is now investigating the matter, obviously.
