PS4: PSone & PS2 emulation has mixed results, disc-based backwards compatibility possible - rumour

PlayStation 4 looks like it could be getting a PSone and PS2 support announcement this year, but an industry insider has claimed that Sony's tech is currently coming back with mixed results. Disc-based backwards compatibility could also come to the console.

It follows claims made by reputable industry tipster Ahsan “Thuway” Rasheed, who said that PS4 will soon support some PSone and PS2 classic titles at native 1080p. However, he now claims that the high-end rendering only works with some titles, while others are coming back choppy and unimpressive.

He elaborated on the matter in this string of tweets:

We've asked Sony for comment.
