PS4 getting Nico Nico Share option soon

Japanese PlayStation 4 owners will soon be able to post to Nico Nico when using the console's Share function.

Gematsu reports that the PS4 will support Twitch and Ustream when it launches in Japan on February 22, but that Nico Nico support will be added in northern spring via firmware update.

Users will need a premium Nico Nico account to use the feature, but will receive a one month trial membership.

Nico Nico is a popular Japanese video streaming and sharing service similar to Twitch or YouTube, but with the neat twist of user comments appearing on the video itself. It's full of gaming and geek culture content, and has even been used by platform holders and publishers to stream events and presentations; heck, Nintendo bought stock in Nico Nico. It can be a little difficult to access without help from a Japanese speaker, though.

Thanks, Joystiq.
