PS4 firmware update 4.01 is out now

The ol' one-sentence patch note for PlayStation 4 system updates return with the new 4.01 firmware.

Sony has released a new firmware update for all PlayStation 4 consoles.

The new update is the first since the big 4.00 release in September, which brought many welcome features such as HDR support, the ability to create folders, and a general redesign of many system elements.

Today's update, version 4.01, doesn't really do much. It's 297.6 MB in size, as these typically go. The only patch note available reads, "this system software update improves the quality of the system performance."

Anyone with a PlayStation 4 and PS4 Slim will be able to download it, if your console hasn't already done that automatically.
