PS4 firmware update 2.02 has fixed major Dragon Age: Inquisition issues

Dragon Age: Inquisition has an issue on PlayStation 4 that causes the system to lock-up and, in some cases, corrupt the save file.

The issues were encountered by Polygon during their time with the game. Frequent freezes would occur requiring a hard-reset of the console, sometimes resulting in corrupted save files, which is a pretty major issues considering the length of the game.

According to an EA representative, the issue is caused by PS4's recent 2.00 system update, and was not fixed with the 2.01 version either - unlike in Evolve's case.

Thankfully, the cause of the issue has be identified and Sony has deployed firmware 2.02 to all PS4 users, which should provide a fix for it. Polygon did some testing using a PS4 console running an early version of said firmware update and report that it has indeed fixed the issue.

We'll let you know if firmware 2.02 is still causing issues.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is out next week.
