Sony is making steps towards relaunching the PlayStation Store, activating free PlayStation Plus subscriptions and upgrading PSP's Firmware, but has confirmed the service will not restart in the next day.
It was previously reported that Sony intended to put the PS Store live again at some point later today, based on a leaked memo sent out last week to Sony publishing partners.
Sony, however, has confirmed that this is not the case.
"The latest information I have on PlayStation Store is that we are aiming to have it live by the end of May," said SCEE's James Gallagher, speaking on the EU PS Blog.
"Contrary to popular rumours, it will not be re-opening tomorrow but we will let you know here as soon as the date is confirmed."
Sony's released PSP Firmware 6.39 earlier today. You'll be required to update your PSN password when upgrading, assuming you haven't done to already.
PSN is to undergo maintenance from 4pm today until midnight tonight, so you'll need to log into PSN before 4.00pm BST if you want to play online this evening.
The PS Store was taken down in mid-April with the rest of PSN after the service was hacked. While online play was restored on May 15, the Store has remained offline.
Forming part of its return, the Store will undergo "multiple" updates "per week" until it catches up with the weeks it's missed during the downtime.
As previously detailed, PSN users will get a Welcome Back pack, including the now-activated 30-day PS Plus subscription - existing customers will get an additional 60 days to their accounts - and a choice of two PS3 and two PSP games.
PS3 users will be able to choose from LittleBigPlanet, inFamous, Wipeout HD and Dead Nation. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty will be offered to Europeans, while Super Stardust HD will be an extra for the US.
For PSP, choices will consist of LittleBigPlanet PSP, Pursuit Force, Killzone Liberation and ModNation Racers PSP.
German PS3 users will be offered Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings instead of inFamous and Dead Nation. The German PSP offering will include Everybody's Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party instead of Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation.
