Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake delayed to March

Ubisoft has announced a delay for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.

Originally slated to arrive on January 21, 2021, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed to March 18.

The news comes from a post on Ubisoft's Czech Republic Facebook page, but has since been pulled. Whether it has been delayed in all regions remains to be seen, as again, the post was pulled.

Luckily, Gematsu gathered the information beforehand.

"2020 was a year like no other, and today we would like to inform you that we need more time to complete the game," read the post.

"With that, the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right decision to ensure we deliver a game you enjoy.

"Thank you for your patience and continued support of the Prince of Persia, and we hope you remain safe and healthy during this holiday season."

The game was revealed during Ubisoft Forward back in September after leaks already outed the game.

If you have never played it before, the game allows you to rewind time while playing, undoing death by traps or platforming, as well as freezing enemies and moving objects. It was originally released in 2003.

This remake has been rebuilt from the ground up using the Assassin’s Creed Origins engine, and features new mo-cap movement, a new in-game camera, and rejigged combat. The new Sands of Time features the original voice actor Yuri Lowenthal alongside newcomer Supinder Wraich, who plays Princess Farah.

Just like the 2003 release, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will also include the original Prince of Persia game, originally released in 1989.

The game is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
