Pokémon X & Y's new reveal looks a lot like Mewtwo

Nintendo and Gamefreaks are being a bit mysterious about Pokémon X & Y's latest reveal, but one ting's for sure - this new contender has some sort of tie to MewTwo, the first and most badass of the rare mythic Pokémon.

Alright nerds, settle down - technically Mewtwo is a clone of Mythic Pokémon Mew making it a Genetic Pokémon - but semantics aside I think we can agree he was the coolest rare of the Red and Blue generation and the one we all used for unwinnable, endless battles.

A new, unnamed Pokémon was shown off this weekend on the Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash, but no details have been given beyond a hint that it is connected to everyone's favourite Psychic type. What we do have is some footage and tiny images.

Pokémon X & Y is due on 3DS in October.
