Some gym trainers will be exclusive to Pokemon Sword, others to Pokemon Shield

Some of the gym leaders in Pokemon Sword and Shield will only be available in one of the two versions.

In the latest Pokemon Sword and Shield trailer showing off the new Alcremie, Yamper, Rolycoly, and Duraludon. the Pokemon Company also revealed a big change coming with the game.

Certain trailers will be exclusive to Pokemon Sword, whereas others can only be found in Pokemon Shield. This is not a universal rule, however, as most trainers will be available in both versions, but locking trainers behind one of the two is certainly new.

In the trailer, we got a look at fight-type Bea in Pokemon Sword, and the goth, ghost-type Allister for Shield. The gym for each respective trainer will also reflect their themes in its colours, which we also get a brief look at in the trailer.
