Pokemon Let's Go adds requirement system to challenge gym leaders

Pokemon: Let's Go Gyms will have specific requirements to enter instead of the usual optional hints.

Pokemon: Let's Go is offering lots of changes to the typical formula, including integration with Niantic's Pokemon Go. There is one significant change compared to previous main Pokemon titles: Gyms will have specific requirements before you can enter them.

According to the official Pokemon: Let's Go website (thanks Siliconera), Gyms will have clearly stated entrance conditions. Options will include carried Pokemon types, levels, and more. This is a notable shift from past games in the series, which offered hints for defeating Gym Leaders.

While streamlining gameplay is a good thing for new players, it prevent Pokemon veterans from experimenting with unique loadouts. Perhaps Gyms will be replayable without the requirements after completing them?

We'll find out when Pokemon: Let's Go launches on November 16, 2018. It will be available in Pikachu and Eevee editions for the Nintendo Switch.
