There's now a new way to encounter Pokemon Go's Legendaries thanks to recent quest update

With the arrival of Pokemon Go's quest and tasks update, came a new, raid-free way of encountering Legendary Pokemon.

Pokemon Go players who completed all their daily quests for the past week received a big reward of XP, Stardust, and berries. If you unwrap this box of goodies, you'll trigger an encounter with legendary fire bird Moltres.

Nintendo Everything is reporting that there's a chance Moltres will flee before you can capture it, but the Pokemon could show up again afterwards.

One Reddit user, who managed to compelte all seven days of quests, said that Moltres can be caught using any Pokeballs or berries you have.

This is big news for regular Pokemon players who found it difficult in the past to catch some of these Legendary Pokemon. In Moltres' case, the Pokemon was only available in limited Legendary raids last year.

The next seven days of quests could bring a new reward, but since Niantic didn't announce Moltres' surprise appearance, you can expect it to also keep it close to the chest.
