Pokemon Go legendaries Articuno, Ho-oh, Lugia, Moltres, Zapdos will start appearing this weekend

It's finally happening: Legendary Pokemon will released into wide, wild world of Pokemon Go.

Just in time for the one-year anniversary celebrations, Pokemon Go players will be able to try and catch Legendary Pokemon.

Once the Pokemon are unleashed, Trainers will need to search for unique Legendary Eggs at Gym locations. Once located, players can team up to join a Legendary Battle Raid to defeat the Pokemon and earn a chance to catch it.

The trailer posted below provides a glimpse at how Trainers can cooperate to find, battle, and catch a Legendary Pokemon. You'll see Articuno, Ho-oh, Lugia, Moltres, and Zapdos in it - along with a Mewtwo tease at the end.

It all starts this weekend at Pokemon Go Fest Chicago at Grant Park on July 22. The battle against the first Legendary Pokemon will require teamwork from millions of Trainers around the world in order to be revealed at the event.

Each player will need to work together to catch Pokemon during the Challenge Windows to unlock in-game bonuses and the chance for the first Legendary Pokemon to appear at Pokemon Go Fest. If Trainers in Chicago successfully defeat it, the Legendary will start appearing in Raid Battles around the world after the festivities end.

Those unable to attend Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago will also be able to participate in two other Challenge Windows to unlock more global rewards. During the Challenge Windows, those in Grant Park will attempt to unlock perks for players everywhere by catching set types of Pokemon.

We provided more information on Pokemon Go's anniversary event and Pokemon Go Fest through a previous post.
