Pokemon Go: if you've been wrongfully banned, head over here

Niantic has sent out a message about the bannings that are being handed out, and have offered a form for anyone who is wrongly banned.

An update on the official Pokemon Go website has addressed the issue of people getting banned from the game.

"After reviewing many reports of in-game cheating, we have started taking action against players taking unfair advantage of and abusing Pokémon GO", the post reads. "Moving forward, we will continue to terminate accounts that show clear signs of cheating". Cheating may involve using the numerous apps and services that Niantic has banned.

Niantic reiterates their reasons behind these bannings. "Our main priority with Pokémon GO is to provide a fair, fun, and legitimate game experience for all players. If our system has determined that you cheated, then you will receive an email stating that your account has been terminated."

However, with many players worrying that they may be banned unfairly, it's good to note that Niantic has set up a ban appeal form as well. If you are banned from playing the game for reasons that you feel are unfair, you can write to them with this form and submit evidence to protest or prove your innocence.

We'll be keeping an eye out for any stories of wrongful bans being overturned, or requests being rejected.
