PocketStation revival is PS Vita app, first batch of titles launch in Japan today

Sony was teasing the return of PocketStation last week by way of this bizarre trailer. The cat's out of the bag now, as it's actually a new app for PS Vita. The first announced game is Square's Chocobo World. See it in action here.

You can see Sony's official PocketStation app reveal trailer above.

From today, Japanese PS Plus members will be able to download the PocketStation app for free, and Siliconera reports that it'll come with the classic mini-games included in PSone titles Crash Bandicoot 3, Mega Man, Ape Escape and more, including Square's Chocobo World.

Starring Sony's Japanese mascot Toro the Cat, PSone title Dokodemo Issho will also be made available from December 3.

There is no word on a western release at present. Would you like to see it happen? let us know below.
