PlayStation's strangest game, Hohokum, has a release date

Hohokum isn't like other games. Like, at all. Somehow, this just makes me want to put it in my life all the more when its release date finally rolls around.

Honeyslug's gorgeous sandbox has been in the works for years, so it's with great pleasure that we pass on the PlayStation Blog's announcement of Hohokum's August 13 release date on PlayStation 3, PS4 and Vita.

Hohokum puts the player in control of a serpent-like creature, which flies through the sky something like a Chinese dragon. Although there are secrets to uncover and goals of a sort, there are no scores and no objectives. Instead, you just enjoy the experience of being the serpent, and explore the beautiful world.

Before you call the game police, I really think you should watch the video below, featuring Ricky Haggett and Richard Hogg explaining their goals with the project.

Hohokum has been incubated at SCE Santa Monica as part of Sony's ongoing commitment both to indie games and broader gaming experiences, for which we are profoundly grateful.
