Sony is hosting an invitation-only event at GDC 2016 next month where it will discuss PlayStation VR and provide hands-on demos.

Engadget posted a copy of the invitation on its website.

The company hasn't announced a price or release date for is virtual reality offering, but hopefully more information on this will be provided at the event.

Sony said previously to expect the headset to release during the first-half of 2016, which would give it a June/July window. GameStop's CEO has it pegged for release in the fall, but Sony said the fall window was just speculation on the retailer's part.

In September of last year, Sony CEO Andrew House said the device would be “priced as a new gaming platform."

At present, there are over 50 titles confirmed for the headset and over 100 titles in the works.

Hopefully, we'll hear more about content created for the headset next month as well.

Sony's PlayStation VR presentation will take place March 15 from 2-6pm PT/5-8pm ET.

GDC 2016 runs March 14-18.
