PlayStation business aiming to be number one, says Hirai

New Sony boss Kaz Hirai has made no bones about it: he wants PlayStation to be in the number spot in the industry.

The new chief earmarked the games business, Sony's digital imaging arm - cameras, basically - and mobile to be the three main areas the company can strengthen itself with.

Hirai was speaking as part of Sony's Q3 financial conference call yesterday morning.

Hirai will take over as Sony CEO and president on April 1 from Sir Howard Stringer, who will take up a role as chairman of the board at the company from June.

Thanks, Andriasang.
