Pixeljunk Shooter 2 uses light and acid
Q-Games is to bring corrosive acid and creative lighting tricks to PixelJunk Shooter 2, making the game even more of a challenge than the excellent original.
Kotaku reports that acid can only be passed by dodging, due to any shots you fire being dissolved. Firing bullets also causes all sorts of other problems, such a stray acid flying everywhere; obviously not an ideal scenario.
The site also mentions that new light tricks make an appearance. Staying in the shrouds of darkness for too long will instantly destroy your ship, while you will also be unable to grapple scientists under cover of darkness.
In an Alan Wake twist, a way to fight against the darkness is a timed switch, which turns on a light for a set period of time. Your ship can also carry around a light ball (which grows from the wall much like bombs do in the first game), allowing you to traverse the darkness.
It sounds like Q-Games really went all out with its sequel. Hooray for that.
PixelJunk Shooter 2 is due for release on PSN later this year.
