Pillars of Eternity to release in northern winter

Pillars of Eternity, the crowdfunded old-school RPG better known as Project Eternity, has finally received a release window - even if it is a vague, three-month period.

Obsidian Entertainment revealed the northern winter 2014 release window in a Kickstarter update.

"We wanted to officially update everyone that we are looking good to release Eternity by Winter 2014. So, look forward to getting your hands on Pillars of Eternity later this year," the producer Rose Gomez wrote.

The RPG is coming to Linux, Mac and PC.

The news follows confirmation that Pillars of Eternity won't release in the first half of 2014, and was accompanied by some new assets, such as the video below showing off character models for Death Godlikes.

Obsidian also shared concept art and character models for other characters, including Earth Godlikes and the cat form druids can take, as well as a couple of environments.

The RPG is being built in Unity, and Obsidian's colleagues at inXile have been so impressed with how gorgeous Pillars of Eternity is looking that they've licensed its technology for Torment: Tides of Numenera.
