Phil Spencer says Xbox has "more work to do," but Game Pass support is "really great"

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has acknowledged that although the company has "more work to do," the response to Game Pass across Xbox One and PC has been great.

The news comes from Spencer's Twitter account, where he posted a reply to a tweet he sent over a year ago. The original tweet, from June 2019, was addressing a claim that Microsoft "may actually be committed to PC gaming this time." After several previous attempts, people were on the fence as to whether or not the company could pull it off - in Spencer's eyes, it largely has.

Check out the tweet below.

"I wanted to thank the community for the support on PC," wrote Spencer. "We made statements like this a few times over the years and the skeptical responses were earned. More work to do but the support we are seeing through Xbox Game Pass PC and Steam team right now is really great, thanks."

The proof is in the pudding - Microsoft currently has exclusivity over two of the top three bestselling games on Steam right now (Grounded and Microsoft Flight Simulator), while Halo Master Chief Collection is still nestled comfortably amid the top 10. In fact, in the case of Grounded specifically, over one million players have already given its Early Access version a whirl.

It's worth noting that although Spencer is looking forward, some blasts from the past recently made their way back onto the Microsoft Store. Several delisted Xbox 360 games are now purchasable for Xbox One, including Silent Hill Downpour, Dirt 2, and more.

Spencer also made another very important announcement recently: apparently, Craig the Brute is the "new official Xbox mascot."
