Paying Tribute to the Cruel Beauty of Demon's Souls

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD | Kat is joined by special guests David Craddock and John Learned as they pay tribute to a pioneering action RPG.

This article first appeared on USgamer, a partner publication of VG247. Some content, such as this article, has been migrated to VG247 for posterity after USgamer's closure - but it has not been edited or further vetted by the VG247 team.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey and Nadia Oxford. You can find the previous episodes here.

After close to a decade, Demon's Souls' servers were finally closed down last week. To capture this seminal moment, I brought in Souls expert John Learned, who chronicled the month leading up to Demon's Souls' demise for USgamer. We also welcome back David Craddock, author of the outstanding Dungeon H@cks, to share his own thoughts on the action RPG that started the Soulsborne phenomenon [download link here].

But that's not all! I'm cautiously interested in Square Enix's new Valkyrie Profile teaser, but I'm a little nervous in light of how the Secret of Mana remake went. Plus, Nadia and I aren't too happy about the unfortunate Chrono Trigger PC port (Warning: Much ranting within). And Nadia finally shares her thoughts on the unique Final Fantasy XV mobile game!
