Payday 2 publisher 505 Games promises to restock UK

It seems that the availability of Overkill's heist-based shooter Payday 2 at retail has been sorely lacking in the UK since the game launched last week, with copies being hard to find on shelves. 505 Games is scrambling to fix the problem.

A 505 spokesperson wrote on the company's official Facebook page last night, "505 Games is aware that our retail partners are currently experiencing a product shortage for Payday 2 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. We are working hard to remedy this by shipping out more copies daily in order to ensure that store shelves are being re-stocked as quickly as possible."

There's no word on whether 505 expected lower sales, or if it was simply in higher demand than anticipated. It hasn't done too much damage. The game was profitable before it was even released, and reached the top spot on the UK charts this week.
