Paranautical Activity goes to Kickstarter for additional funding after Steam Greenlight snub

Paranautical Activity might be in beta already, but this hasn't stopped developer Code Avarice from taking the project to Kickstarter for additional development funding.

The Kickstarter campaign calls for $10,0000 and has raised $5,218 at the time of writing with 28 days in change.

You can buy the game now for $9.99 over at the studio's site and take part in the beta.

If the game sounds familiar then it may be because Valve blocked the game on Steam Greenlight in May for trying to broker a publishing deal with Adult Swim while it was active on the voting scheme.

At the time Valve's Doug Lombardi said, "We review Greenlight votes, reviews, and a variety of factors in the Greenlight process,” said Lombardi to PCgamesN. “However our message to indies regarding publishers is do it for your own reasons, but do not split your royalties with a publisher expecting an automatic ‘Yes’ on Greenlight."

As you can see, the retro-themed FPS is still with us, alive and well. what do you make of the above?

Thanks Joystiq.
