Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions features perma-save

Namco is following in Capcom's footsteps by introducing a permanent save system with 3DS title Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions.

Wired reports the collection permanently saves high scores to the cartridge, failing even to keep a table of the user's previous best scores - a major drw of arcade-style games.

Permanent saves also mean players can't erase and re-attempt the game's achievements.

Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions features six game based on the classic Namco properties.

Capcom came under heavy criticism recently for including a perma-save in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries, which was widely touted as a strike against the second-hand games market. Although the publisher denied that, it likely won't use the system again.
